Rina Gratz
Rina brings to the Prichard Committee her 30-year experience in education, which she began as a preschool and kindergarten teacher. Rina served the Commonwealth in various leadership capacities at the Kentucky Department of Education, in the areas of early literacy and primary education, equity and multicultural education, educating English language learners (Title 3), professional development, school-based decision making, and school and district improvement. Rina was a Jefferson County Public Schools elementary principal, priority schools manager, and the executive director of the district's Early Childhood program which served over 3,200 preschool students in 40 schools. As a member of Louisville's Ready for K Alliance Guiding Team and the Louisville Mayor's Early Learning Action Group, Rina has championed equitable access to high-quality early care and education and collaborated with partners in the early care and education community. Rina is an active member of the Governor's Early Childhood Advisory Council, the state's leadership collaborative that seeks to unify Kentucky's early childhood ecosystem, assess its landscape and assets, elevate best practices and inform policy and implementation to improve outcomes for Kentucky children and families.
