Teresa Lajara

Policy Manager

Teresa is a social justice advocate passionate about civic engagement, community building, and social policy. She spent nearly eight years serving in various roles within Louisville Metro Government, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and the Nevada State Assembly. Committed to service, she has volunteered as a mediator with Restorative Justice Louisville and served on the boards of Pandora Productions and New Leaders Council Kentucky.

Teresa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York, and a dual Master of Science in Social Policy and Master of Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania. Fluent in Spanish, she’s a globetrotting aficionado originally from Brooklyn, New York, and currently calls Old Louisville home.

In her “post-pandemic” life, Teresa is dedicating herself to personal growth through mindfulness practices, holistic movement, and the imperfect pursuit of becoming a better human.

Fun fact about Teresa: Visiting all the Major League Baseball parks is on her bucket list.
